About Us

We are a woodworking company based in Sacramento, CA. We make custom furniture, kitchen goods, and other case/millwork. We do both residential/commercial projects.

It all began with Thomas’ love for woodworking at a young age in his grandfather’s workshop. After graduating from high school in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK, Thomas completed a carpentry apprenticeship. From there, he spent many years training under a cabinet maker and building kitchens and other projects. He always a passion for food as well so Thomas gravitated to the culinary arts industry in England. This then led him to Whistler, British Columbia, Canada continuing in the culinary arts industry. While in Whistler, he spent his work days in the kitchen and spare time enjoying the great outdoors and working on various construction projects before meeting his future wife Rosemarie. Together the two tracked back to the US and began a new adventure together.

Fast forward to present day, they have integrated their passion for food, woodworking, design, and creativity into Block & Bowl. Creating classic and beautiful, chef and carpenter inspired home & kitchen goods and furniture; Block & Bowl's handmade goods would please any chef and designer alike.

Block & Bowl is owned and operated by Thomas and Rosemarie Cannell.
